What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth and supports a new tooth on top, so it looks, feels and works much like a natural tooth. Implants can replace a single tooth, several teeth or, with All-on-4, All-on-5 and All-on-6 implants, a full set of teeth.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach. The number of implants you need, and the most suitable way to restore your smile, varies from patient to patient and depends on your dental health and the result you would like.

Your initial treatment plan is prepared after our dental team reviews your X-rays and clear photographs of your teeth. Once you arrive in Istanbul, your dentist carries out a detailed in-person examination and any necessary imaging, and your final treatment plan is confirmed based on these findings.

Who Are Dental Implants For?

Dental implants may suit you if you have one or more missing teeth, or teeth that need replacing, and you would like a fixed, natural-looking alternative to removable dentures.

Your gums and jawbone need to be healthy enough to support an implant. Your dentist checks this with your X-rays or a 3D scan, and if anything needs treating first, they will explain it during your examination.

All-on-4, All-on-5 and All-on-6 Dental Implants

If you are missing most or all of your teeth, or your remaining teeth need replacing, All-on-4, All-on-5 and All-on-6 implants can give you a full set of fixed new teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Instead of one implant for every tooth, your new teeth are supported by four, five or six implants.

How many implants will I need?

It varies from person to person. You don’t always need one implant for every missing tooth, as several teeth can sometimes be supported by fewer implants. Your initial plan is prepared from your X-rays and photos, and the final number is confirmed after your examination in Istanbul.

What is the difference between All-on-4, All-on-5 and All-on-6?

All three replace a full set of teeth in the upper or lower jaw with fixed new teeth. The difference is the number of implants supporting them: four with All-on-4, five with All-on-5 and six with All-on-6. Your dentist will recommend the most suitable option for you after reviewing your X-rays and examining your jawbone.

Can I have implants if I have bone loss?

It depends on how much bone you have and where. Your dentist assesses your jawbone with a 3D scan, and if extra treatment is needed before your implants, they will explain it and include it in your personal plan.

How is my treatment plan prepared?

From the moment I arrived, I felt so well looked after. Every single member of the team was kind, caring, and genuinely wanted to make sure I was comfortable throughout my stay.

The pre-operative testing was incredibly thorough, which gave me so much confidence that my health and safety were their top priority. The dietitian was absolutely brilliant, taking the time to explain everything clearly and making sure I understood what to expect after surgery.

The translators were fantastic and made communication so easy, despite the language barrier. A special thank you to Senem, my coordinator, who was amazing from start to finish. She was always there to answer my questions, offer reassurance, and make the whole process feel stress-free. Also huge shout out to Sedek operational supervisor , he was truly amazing, spoke great English and checked in everyday, and even was comforting on my low days.

Before leaving, I was given a very clear, well-presented food plan and medication schedule, so I knew exactly what I needed to do during recovery.

Communication was relatively quick via WhatsApp, even with the time zone differences, which made the whole process feel easy and reassuring.
