Who Is a Good Candidate for Rhinoplasty?

What Happens During Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is carried out under general anaesthetic. How long it takes varies from patient to patient, and most people stay in Istanbul for around 6 to 7 nights in total, including their hospital and hotel stay.

How long is the recovery after rhinoplasty?
Recovery happens in stages and varies from person to person. Bruising and visible swelling ease gradually, and your surgeon will advise you when you can return to work, exercise and social plans based on how you are healing. Your nose keeps refining as the last of the swelling settles, which can take up to a year.
How long do I need to stay in Istanbul for rhinoplasty?
Most patients stay in Istanbul for around 6 to 7 nights in total, including their hospital and hotel stay. This allows time for your pre-operative tests, the surgery itself and the post-operative checks your team completes before you fly home.
When is the nasal splint removed?
The splint supports your nose while it starts to heal and is usually removed at a check-up about a week after surgery, before you fly home. Your team will tell you when your appointment is and how to look after your nose until then.
How long does swelling last after rhinoplasty?
Swelling is most noticeable in the first few days and eases a lot over the first two to three weeks. After that it continues to go down gradually. The tip of the nose is usually the last area to settle, and it can take up to a year before you see the final result, especially if you have thicker skin.
What is the difference between rhinoplasty and septorhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty changes the outside shape of the nose. Septorhinoplasty does this and also straightens the septum, the wall inside the nose that divides the two nostrils, to help with breathing. Your surgeon will recommend which is right after checking both the shape of your nose and how well you breathe through it.
Is non-surgical rhinoplasty an alternative to surgery?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty uses dermal filler to smooth a small bump or lift the tip. It’s quick, but the results are temporary and it can’t make the nose smaller, straighten it significantly or help with breathing. If you want a lasting change to the size or shape of your nose, surgical rhinoplasty is usually the option to consider.
What is a Turkish rhinoplasty?
“Turkish rhinoplasty” is a term people often use for rhinoplasty performed in Turkey, which has become a popular destination for nose surgery. It isn’t one fixed style of nose.
